RACE INFORMATION

Course:
The course will start and end at Clarendon Metro Park located at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and Highland Street in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia.

The race is an out and back course that begins heading east on Wilson Boulevard through the densely populated and vibrant neighborhoods of Clarendon, Courthouse, and Rosslyn. The course drops onto Highway Route 110 [note: same road as the start of the Marine Corps Marathon] where runners will pass Arlington National Cemetery and will have partial views of national monuments. Runners will make a large turnaround near the Pentagon and head north back onto Route 110 and onto Wilson Boulevard. The course has rolling hills with the front end being fast and downhill. The 2K course will also be an out and back starting at Highland Street and Wilson Blvd and turning around at N. Vietch Street. A map is available here.

Timing & Scoring:
This event will be timed by Pacers/Charm City Run AMB i.t. Timing. Unreturned chips will be charged $60 to the runner. You will pick up your timing chip the morning of the race. No Chip = No Time.

The 2k will not be timed or scored.

Packet Pick Up:
Packet pick up will be held on Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9 from 10am to 8pm at Pacers Clarendon (3100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201).

Race day packet pick up and registration is available from 7:30am to 8:30am. Please arrive early! You may have a friend or family member pick up your packet.

Arlington Neighborhood & Business Challenge:
Celebrate Arlington! Arlington residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up for the challenge! Most participants registered win! Winning groups will receive $500 to their favorite charity.

TRANSPORTATION:
The start line is less than 25 feet from the Clarendon Metro. Metro opens at 7am. We urge individuals to use public transportation. Bike racks are also available at the metro station. Hey, its good for the environment!

PARKING:
Free parking is available at the Arlington County DHS parking garage at 3303 Highland Street; THIS LOT IS NOW OPENING AT 7AM. Meter parking and street parking are also available. Most meters are 2-4 hour meters. There is no street parking on Wilson Boulevard but parking is available on Clarendon Boulevard east of Highland Street.

WATER STATIONS:
Water Stations will be available along the course, including on Route 110 (new this year). You will pass these stations twice. There are no water stops on the 2K course.

RESTROOMS:
There are restrooms located at the start/finish line. There are no restrooms available on course.

Beneficiary:
The Battle of the Boulevard 10K will benefit the National Kidney Foundation, National Capital Chapter, and the Arlington YMCA.

Post Race Events:
A post-race party including entertainment will be hosted by Mr. Days Bar Sports Rock Café. Post-race showers available compliments of Gold's Gym.

YMCA KIDS ZONE:
Bring the kids to the YMCA Kids Zone for games and noncompetitive physical activity.

BAG DROP:
There will be a bag drop at the park. Pacers and the Battle of the Boulevard are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Leave at your own risk.
